I am not sure about this one.
In the 1995 movie Devil in a blue dress (with Denzel Washington and Don Cheadle after 3:00 this still appears.
The two men in the middle are playing something. The sound of something hard hitting the wooden table makes me think of playing go. (But it could also be domino stones hitting the deck).
Zooming in and you see, … , uh yes what, maybe these are go stones.

Those look like marbles, so maybe Chinese checkers (halma), although the board looks rather small.

Took another look at this, and I want to revise my opinion. I think they are playing dominoes, and the marbles are functioning like poker chips, as a medium for betting (odd, but not impossible).
Alternative idea for the marbles: perhaps they are ornaments glued together to form tableware such as cup holders and ashtrays. The circular arrangement of the marbles on the right suggested this idea.
