I was messing around with Waltheri the other day and found that the most common whole-board openings usually lead to dozens if not hundreds of different games, but the number drops off exponentially for every move you add. I could not find any two pro games with the exact same position more than 25-ish moves in. Can anyone find anything better? I’d be really interested to see if by some cosmic coincidence there were ever two games that were exactly the same through the entire opening.
