do you know Hikaru no Go? then you must know that at the beginning, Hikaru just placed all the stones based on Sai’s instructions.
you can also do that at online-go. ask someone (dan player) to tell you the moves (via chat) during the game.
later you will familiar with ‘shape’ and have better instinct.
this is not the same with AI cheating. this is only for learning purpose, until you have some level of confidence.

Yes, please understand that we would still regard it as cheating. It is unfair outside assistence (even without AI) that would skew both player’s rank significantly. So ideally yes, try it with an informed opponent if you want, and certainly not in ranked games, please 
As far as I am concerned, it is a scenario better suited for clubs or other OTB play, as I suspect blindly copying someone elses moves (esp from chat coordinates) will have the student hardly be focusing on the shapes, and their meaning, plus will probably not be much fun.
And if I recall correctly Sai also comes to a similar conclusion when he realizes Hikaru is actually interested in the games (not just a monkey to copy moves), and starts teching him properly.
I would also consider some variants on this approach - not copying EVERY move (so that the student thinks about the game him/her self), and dan player suggesting say every Nth move. ideally with some comments about the thought process.
If N=2 then this becomes a rengo.
I used to think that OP’s comment about linking Katrain through an mcp with a complicated chrome setup to mimick his clicks was context-appropriate satire.
Well, I’m not so sure anymore… 
people or new players need to be reminded. that’s why sometimes post something like this (and other thinkable / unthinkable cheating method), so we can maintain good environment in OGS.
