What happens if C18 B17?

You tell me, you are the 6d.

I mean, since you are sharing the problem probably you should’ve thought it through :joy:

I think it will be a good variation to add.

If you can work out a better variation, I am okay with that. But C18 - B17 is only the beginning of a variation.

No, what I do in this thread is sharing puzzles that others constructed. I only pass them to others. And maybe there are mistakes or variations missing, so be it. But a loose remark of two coordinates is not enough for me to take any action whatsoever.

IMO, if you are sharing problems, you should evaluate the problem to the best of your ability first. In that way you can learn from it also. At the very least you can acknowledge the comments rather than just moving on. If there are variations missing or even worse mistakes in the solution, it certainly won’t keep the doctor away.

It’s not a better solution but rather another interesting variation. Perhaps you can take this as an exercise and think about what happens after C18 B17.

To be honest; this is so far above my level. I don’t even understand the solution. I ranked this puzzle as a 1 D puzzle. Don’t know if this is realistic though.

I think the solution in the problem doesn’t make sense because black can just connect at D16 here

If the sequence up to below is correct, then white can simply play F15 or D16 next.

It’s definitely not 1D lol
