Curious Droid for some very nice scientific topics and questions
Bright insight if you want a “alternative history” channel without the tinfoil silliness (he has some amazing info and photos in his videos and whether someone find what he says plausible or not is neither here or there. )
SciManDan a channel dedicated to debunking tinfoilers and flatearthers (very funny, but bring a helmet along to protect yourself from the facepalms. Some of the people he covers are totally bananas)
And last but not least the LockPickingLawyer … a channel that will make you never feel safe at home anymore (seriously, sometimes it takes him more time to explain what lock is infront of him, than actually pick the lock)
I mean look at this. The title is not even clickbait :
@yebellz the video made me want to be responsible. (rekindled perseverance )
My thought about HBO was “very good, but haven’t we all torrented everything already?”
It might be in Verne since he wrote so much (I’ve read only half a dozen of his books), but I think it is more likely to be Carl Stephanson’s famous short story “Leiningen Versus the Ants,” made into the movie The Naked Jungle, starring Charlton Heston. Or it could be Wells’s “The Empire of the Ants.” Both are set in Brazil, which really does have some fearsome Army ants.
I’m pretty sure I’d never heard of Carl Stephanson or Wells when I was maybe 10 years old
But I read lots of Verne back then, maybe even most of his novels. I have a faint memory of it, it might be the 15-year-old captain, but I don’t remember the exact scene and most of my books from back then are at my parents’.
(Please don’t discard the video just because she’s a beauty Youtuber. She has been very open about her mental health issues and she’s saying some useful stuff in a casual way, I’m posting because maybe it can help someone feel anchored during these times).
