Black Hole vs Sideseki
“oho-ho-ho!” is what I exclaimed when I saw that
That game was awesome!! (Black was very greedy, but I love how you calmly ignored k3 the whole game, while the opponent wasted moves to secure it)
…
I like to watch videos featuring unorthodox openings applied by high level players. Even though I don’t understand what author is saying I can understand part of what he says thanks to diagrams he shows. Some of you might be interested, there is a small playlist.
very interesting! I will try to locate that joseki. I assume it is in the OGS joseki library, right?
edit:
I cannot seem to find it though
I personally like this 5 star formation as white.

I get the first two, but I’ve never found the way to reach the 3rd link.
@dangomango
That is also very nice! It gives white the ability to extend either way with the normal two-space jump base.
I’ve never had anyone respond to o3 by playing r7, but the whole thing is amazing nonetheless! O_o
I’ve played two more games with 1 komi. After move 8, white’s winrate was 53 %.
Black won game 4 by 8 points. Game 5 was much more complicated with a drawn-out endgame, and stayed even until move 319. The game ended with nine living groups on the board and black winning by 4 points.
Another good sideseki result. I think that I am going to keep it as my personal style short of thing. The idea of going to EGC and playing sideseki in all games (and probably losing all of them) makes me pretty happy.
