Rating change column is truncated to “...” in game history

Hi,

On the personal profile page, in the game history table, the “Rating change” column is too narrow, so the rating change value is cut off and displayed as “…”. I can’t see the full value.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there a setting or workaround, or is this a table column width issue that needs to be fixed on the site? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

By the way, is there no rating leaderboard or anything like that here?

Sounds like a layout bug - but this would be clearer if you could share what device, OS, browser we’re talking about, and ideally share a screenshot.

about 'rating leaderboard'

It’d be better to have one topic per thread, but you can see a graph showing you where you sit in OGS ratings by clicking open the “compare to global distribution” dopdown.

A “leaderboard” of rankings seems impractical - there are hundreds of thousands of accounts, many many created and many abandoned every day.

There are ladders though, where people actively compete for top place.

Yeah, seems like it cant be scrolled sidewise :<

But its still possivle to say whether the game is ranked or not: unranked games show as “W+resignation” and ranked games have " W+resignation, … " xD

Maybe we could make the game history, and everything else on the profile page wider, so it would fill the entire screen? Currently there is unholy amount of wasted screen real-estate >__>

I can’t reproduce this. Screenshot or it didn’t happen

  1. I haven’t found a way to squish the column
  2. It’s horizontally scrollable - see the scroll bar:

To help with this problem, we need to know device, os, browser and ideally a screenshot.

For me, the game history looks like this, can’t scroll it from side to side.

Same thing both with chrome and firefox on macos

Oh I thought it’s easy to reproduce as all 4 of my devices display it like this:

Here are two of them. The first is screenshot on PC, Win11, Edge and the second is on tablet, android, default browser of android.

And I have tested that the language doesn’t matter

Do you mean the “Result” column?

I agree it seems odd that we truncate that with “…”, but all the actual information fits, at least in English. The only word I ever see truncated is the word “ranked”.

Similarly in Chinese, I think that 等 is the beginning of the word/phrase for “this was a ranked game”.

I think the reason why this is truncated is probably historical rather than “sensible”, but I think that the effect is negligible.

Is this the problem you’re referring to? I wonder why you said “Rating Change” column - I thought you were referring to the second column, which shows the person’s Rating after the game.

What information do you think you are losing in the “…” of the Result column?

Its not just “ranked” thats getting truncated, but it happens if the result is due some longer word than “resignation”. For example “W+Disqualificatio…” or “W+Moderator Deci…” are also truncated in such a way, that the game history does not show the word “ranked” at all.

Also, the word “annulled” is getting truncated, so we have “W+Cancellation, …” too - the exact opposite of game being ranked

A lot of this could be fixed by just making the game history box wider, and that would also eliminate a ton of unutilised screenspace

Oh I think I misunderstood what has been truncated. Because “等级分” also means elo in Chinese so i thought it would be like Elo+xxx.

Oh i wonder if there is a mistake in our translation then? Is there any better chinese word for “this game affects the rating”?

The translation is accurate, just because there is no inflection in Chinese so people can naturally think (for example) rating… is from truncating “rating+xxx” instead of “rated game”. And I thought it’s more likely to be the change of rating.

Then the truncation doesn’t omit really useful information. But it wouldn’t be a bad idea to just fix it. And adding rating changes to the table is helpful to users i think.
