Hello Go enthusiasts!
For those looking for more opportunities to play Go, registration is open for our 9th Annual CA State Go Championship happening on Nov 28th-Nov 29th! All registered players receive a complimentary breakfast & lunch provided!
Last year we had 75 registered players.
Currently 39 players have registered, one of whom is a professional Go Player! Based on player surveys, this year we are doubling our locally designed trophy awards from 8 to 19! We will be acknowledging the top 6 in the Open, the top 3 across three different Handicap Sections, & the top 3 in the 13x13 Beginner’s Tournament. The Top Open Board will be live broadcasted along with back to back commentary for all 6 rounds from members of our own Go community!
Early Bird Discount

To help offset the parking fees in Balboa Park, we are introducing an early bird discount which ends this Wednesday, Oct 28th! Same day as our discounted hotel block! The hotel nightly rate has been discounted from $280/night to $149/night for all king & queen rooms. Parking has also been discounted from $38 to $15. Hot Buffet Breakfast, 24/7 Fitness Center, & High Speed Internet are complimentary as well! Additionally, every guest room is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. The hotel location is close to the playing venue with either a 5 min car ride, or 13 min walk. Attendees can stay between Friday, Nov. 27th, and Sunday, Nov. 29th.
Both the early bird & hotel block discount ends this Wednesday, October 28th, 2026! Players can always register before November 20th in order to play in the first Round of either section. Attached are flyers for each of our three sections at the event!
