I wish when i challenge someone to a rematch, sides are not necessarily kept the same as the color of the first game. So, e.g., if I challenge someone to random sides, the rematch also has random sides.
As it is now, if I challenge someone to random sides, and the first game I have black, the rematch function auto selects black for me. I don’t like that.
Indeed, the rematch button assumes the exact same settings than the previous game. But you can always change those manually
Komi is the other weird one; if your game had an automatic komi, the rematch uses that same komi but as a custom one. And game will always be unranked when using custom komi, even if the value is the same as automatic komi 
Not much of a rematch if you can’t win back the rating points you lost!
When you click rematch, you will get a window where you change a lot of settings (including color you play with).
Just don’t click rematch and automatically send challenge.
I am aware that I can change the settings. I wish I didn’t have to! I wish that when I challenged someone to a rematch the color was not automatically set to be the same color, but was instead set to be the method of choice at the start.
Responding to a post asking for this by telling me that I can change the settings doesn’t really answer the point imo.
