How about the ability to set up games with a rematch clause (in which the colours of the match will be reversed), like in certain martial arts?

Yeah, two game match. I like it! Easily extended to jubango, etc

I like the idea too. Something like a contract between two players for x games.
Then the problem i see is that the contract could become too much a burden, like how players have to organize themself to fulfill it. (Especially for live games).
Then can be opportunity to add a calendary functionality?
This would be great. Then one can schedule live games. Send a challenge for a live game at some specified time in the future.
And with 2 game matches etc, would be nice to see the match score as well: 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, OMG, what a comeback!
