Review request 6k vs 3k

Hi!

Met a 3k and didn’t think I was doing too bad, but I lost big time. Of course I expected to lose, but not by this much (I have been up to 4k so I thought I would be able to have a fair chance). Any level of review or advice would be appreciated!

This is a blitz game (the game only took 27 minutes to finish), so both players made plenty of mistakes. You just made more than your opponent.

I’m not sure if one should draw serious conclusions from a game where neither player spent much thought on their moves. Like, do you even recall why you played specific moves, which other move candidates you considered, and why you rejected those?

The AI review shows the last time the game was close, was from move 148 to move 162. And it was pretty much lost by move 188.
What happened there? It looks like you missed opportunities during the transition from middle game to endgame, where the game focus shifts from settling groups to taking large endgame points. This is often a volatile and potentially decisive phase of the game, so perhaps you weren’t paying enough attention there. But it was a blitz game, so yeah, there’s that. No time to carefully analyse the position during the game.

I can see what you mean with a blitz game. Maybe I was a little too quick to post it for review.
I was just so excited to get a game that went far worse than I expected. (Most of the time I notice the big mistakes that I make.)
As you say, maybe there aren’t any single big mistakes here, rather they’re all over the place. Thanks for the comments anyway.
