I’m very curious about the results of this tournament. All three of the top players had the exact same scores. How are first, second, and third place calculated in this situation?

I don’t have a direct answer for your question, but I have a hypothesis. It looks like you “tied for first,” so I would think the rank should show 1, 1, 1 for the first three players. However, (and this is just a guess) perhaps the system is forced to assign only 1 player to each position (1st place, 2nd place, etc.) and from there is ordering by kyu level? I noticed that the player shown as 1st place in the screen shot also has the strongest kyu level. And perhaps the other 7k player was slightly closer to a 6k level overall?

What is even stranger is that it doesn’t show up in my list of trophies on my profile at all. For first, second or third place:
