Ha! Can’t account for users just being idiots eh?
Thanks again for the perfect app!
That’s an easy excuse for the developer. If the users are actively looking for a setting and not finding it perhaps I’ve hidden it too well
This might sound strange but because the top sub-menu said vibration I never noticed the real setting further down lol
I think i might have looked for it say, three years ago and not since…
Or maybe this, this is a much better excuse!
Very cool, again great work. Works like a charm on my S10. I am wondering, if I quit the app and want to play on later, does it still compute and drain my battery? Or does it only compute when its katas turn?
Katago is running (hence occupying memory but not eating battery) while you are on that screen. The moment you move away from that screen (including by exiting the whole app) katago gets killed and resources get released. Next time you return you can see for about a second the katago chat says “give me a second, I’m starting up” while the katago process starts again.
It only uses battery in 4 instances:
- when calculating katago’s move (chat says “I’m thinking”)
- when calculating a hint (chat says “hmmm…”)
- when estimating territories (chat says something about it)
- when the game is over from 2 passes and we’re computing final territory
If you have reasons to suspect that’s not what’s going on, please report it as a bug.
getting a bug with offline ai
using Pixel 2 XL, i tried to start a game but didn’t click start and was taken to this, but cannot actually play any moves. swiping to the previous menu and clicking on ‘offline ai’ just brings me back to this.
Did you try force closing and reopening the app?
Well as the chat says, just click the new game button (bottom left) and set up a new game…
Great job ! This app works perfectly on Samsung A51.
Is it possible to use this app like a sgf editor to note game that I play in real life ?
Thanks. Can you please let me know how long it takes to make an AI move?
Not at this moment I’m afraid. I’m struggling to find time to work on this as it is, this feature would probably not make it in any time soon.
Between 4 and 5 secondes. It’s ok to play and learn with the hint.
I understand. What is the language of programming ?
Kotlin
New version is out.
- Stats screen! Thanks to @Popz for the contribution. You can view your stats by tapping on “Stats” or you can also check out other players by pressing their name or image in a game.
As usual, feedback is welcome.!
It’s amazing! Very clear and good info at a glance. My only issue with it is that it makes it a bit too easy to bypass the “hide rank” option. I wonder if it might be possible to have a setting to only access the stats page for completed games. Or maybe if you have hide rank enabled to get a pop up question asking if you really want to see the stats as it will reveal rank.
I don’t think there would be a sensible way of hiding ranks in the stats page itself.
Of course this is a very minor concern!
Great work, thank you @Popz.
I don’t think anyone conscious of their own desire to not know their rank would click on a stats page? At least, I can’t think of a reason why they would, or would want to…?
It can be because of the cat.
I have in mind people being tempted to look at opponents stats and seeing their rank that way. For the weak willed like me just one tap is all too easy.
It’s like analysis, i try to avoid using it but unless it’s actually disabled it’s all too easy to confound ones best intentions.
I just had in mind that a small extra step for those who have rank hidden would be useful. And would not need to trouble those who keep ranks visible.
The new version is very useful, thanks to you and @Popz for all the good work. The stats page has several interisting bits of information that are not readily available in the standard OGS web interface. The stats feature has been nicely integrated with the option to hide ranks - it is not immediately visible but still available for occasional reference.
