Settings aren't being preserved

My settings seem to be continually reset to their defaults (things like hiding ranks, byo-yomi countdown sounds, and such). I have online-go.com whitelisted to allow cookies. Anything else I could try?

Well i can only think of the cookie thing (i am not that expert, just trying to help ). You allow them, seems good, but are you sure they are not deleted when you close OGS?

This has been happening to me intermittently for about a week. Settings will reset, then I wait a while and reload and it’s back to normal.

I tried making a meme about it, but somehow that didn’t solve anything.

For me it’s happening on the Brave browser, both Android and Windows. What browser/OS are you on?

Techically OGS uses local storage to keep settings. This might or might not be a separate option for local storage.

@Feijoa I’m also using Brave (on both Linux and OSX), and this is a new behavior. So that’s interesting.

@flovo I’ll look into local storage settings. Thanks for the tip.

This happens even without closing my browser, or closing the tab that OGS is open in. Simply letting my laptop go to sleep will reset all settings to default.

Seems like the most recent browser update resolved the issue. :man_shrugging:

Same. I’ve seen it happen while moving from one of my games to the next. Suddenly my stone preference is gone. It’s been happening a lot in the last week.

What browser/OS? It’s been fine for me for a few days now too.
