There are different sizes of stones: 8 or 9 or 10 x 21,5 mm
And there is glass or yunzi. What can you recommend? is there some “better” ?
Everyone has their own preference. “Better” is just whatever feels nicer for you personally to play with.

There are also 20,5mm stones. Not all gobans are compatible with the 21,5mm stones. But it shouldn’t be a problem if you buy them as a set.
Glass stones are shiny, yunzi are dim.
I own 7x20.5mm glass stones witch have a rather inhomogeneous height. I like the general height of them, but it’s mostly because I’m used to them.
I’m thinking about buying the half convex yunzi stones as a replacement.
Yunzi stones can contain lead Recommend Stones
They have a reference picture about the different stone heights. It should give you a decent impression of how the stones will look.

I personally have a set of yunzi stones (single convex, of course), and I love them. I think the size on mine are 6x22mm, but I’m not sure. It’s been a while since I bought them.
In the end, it all comes down to personal preference. But I’m curious now, so how about a poll?
