Strange notification e-mail

3 hours ago I got a strange e-mail from ogs-notifications@online-go.com.

Your time to move is running out, visit https://online-go.com/game/17164 to make your move.

But I that game finished 17 years ago and I’m not one of the players.

It’s most likely a game from beta. I believe the links in the games from beta still use the main site, and the game number is much much smaller, because noone plays there.

Yeah, don’t use your real email on the beta site  this nonsense happens a lot when you are testing things…

Is this you, go-anon?

Alternatively

if the emails are being revisited fix the emails from beta too.

Ah, yes. I was testing the upcoming scoring update on the beta site earlier this week and apparently I left a game running.

We’ve all been there

Leaving notification emails turned on on test environments so that customers get duplicate (or triplicate etc) emails is a common problem in software systems

In this instance, I don’t think that’s the issue - rather really it’s a bug that we don’t generate the link to the correct server.

I think we want emails on in Beta :face_with_monocle:
