I know this one but the developer has no intention on translate…As far as I know..
Making native iOS app into Android is harder effort than making Android app translatable.
Agree with you…But I’m making my efforts where I can…I’m Brazilian and know English, and Drawing, not programming…
That’s a bit confusing! OGS for OGS eh?
Thank you for this amazing app
I like to please request the option for voice countdown in full-screen mode
Love, this app. Thank you for making it.
Is anyone else having trouble getting the widgets to work since upgrading to iOS26?
Ironically, updated to Tahoe for my Mac (the parallel OS update to iOS 26 and iPadOS 26) and the widget looks great in “Liquid Glass”. Neat seeing a 3000+ game on a pretty new operating system.
Excitedly, I updated my iPad and iPhone expecting to see the same. But unfortunately the widget is just all white.
I’ve restarted the devices, I’ve turned on and off low power modes and cellular data modes. I’ve deleted the app and redownloaded it. I’ve updated the app. I’ve deleted the widgets and replaced them. I’ve searched online but to no avail.
I’ve just about given up. If it weren’t for seeing it work on my iMac, I would have a while ago. This forum is my last attempt.
Hoping this post helps this bug get noticed. Thanks!!
Hi 2r4, thank you for your feedback. Voice countdown in full-screen mode is supposed to be working, looks like there is a bug here. I will see if I can fix it in the next update.
Hi TanukiTenuki, thank you for letting me know about this issue.
Widgets should work for Default and Dark mode, it is not working in Clear and Tinted yet. Could you help to check if that is the case for you? (Weirdly, it does not work on Tahoe for me)
I am working on an update for iOS 26, but it will take a while.
This is wonderful news! Yes, when sent to clear or tinted on iOS it does not work. Interesting on the Tahoe. I have screenshots, but I’ll email them to you.
Hi, I myself am an Android user but my friend who is iOS user wanted to play with me. I recommend her this app.
But when she tries to login, the integrated browser doesn’t close. The client doesn’t seem to login and she can only use the OGS browser version. ![]()
Did anyone face same issues or knows any workaround or fix to this problem? It’d be really great if we both could use a nice app version that notifies us of our games. ![]()
Here are some screenshots of her trying to login.
Clicking on “Done” doesn’t solve it btw. This also means she has to login every time she closes and opens the app again. (although that is only for the webview browser than anyways)
Hi, sorry about this issue. I guess your friend is using a Google Account to log in?
If that is the case, can you help to ask her to try going to the account setting on OGS to set a password for her account, then using the password to login instead?
That was my idea too. She was indeed using a google account. I’ve set up a password with her and then we tried login her in with user/password. That sadly didn’t work either. We tried reinstalling the app (since I learned iOS doesn’t provide a clear appdata like Android
).
That didn’t solve it sadly. I am not sure though if we’ve reinstalled the app without logging in with Google oAuth once. I will ask her to reinstall and only use user/password maybe?
How’s the login flow supposed to look like? Does one sign in and click on the top left done or does the webview automatically close after login?
The web view is supposed to be close automatically after login.
The Google Account flow is a bit different that it opens another webview. This is required by Google but it seems to be causing issues with some Google accounts…
There is also another quirk here: if she enters the password incorrectly, OGS will open Google login instead of telling “wrong password”, this will cause the same issue to happen.
So I would suggest double checking if the password is entered correctly. If there is another web view sliding up when trying to login with password then the password is incorrect.
I’m sorry about all these troubles. I will find a way to improve this.
Thank you for your assistance! ![]()
I will try again with your hints today.
Complying with different standards by different web services can be quite finiky. Know this from experience. So no worries. We’ll be glad if you at some point will find a better flow.
Sente, popular android client, uses login fields for user and password and a separate button for google sign in that opens a google sign in modal, no web views. Maybe worth looking into their approach?
I guess they’re using a different api method.
But I guess Android development can also be quite different to iOS requirement wise so idk.
Thanks for your quick assistance and care. ![]()
Thanks for the pointer, I did look at their implementation when I worked on this feature. Unfortunately, their approach only works on Android due to the tight integration between Android and Google Accounts.
If you want to make sure you do not trigger the “wrong password” quirk on OGS, you can also unlink your Google Account.
Another option would be to link another type of account to OGS and use that to login. The app should work well with all other linked account type.
Hello Hong. Been a while. You and I have been sharing emails over the years. I still an issue with “reconnecting” when moving from one wifi or cell area to another. Often seen when I come out of the tunnel on a train.
I see earlier in the thread that you were going to add analysis mode to the app. Is that still in the plans?
Am I missing something or does the app not have a rematch button? That would come in handy.
Also, is there a way in the app to start a game against a bot? I use a workaround now by adding a few of the bots as friends and then I can start a game against a bot that way.
Sorry about this. I had been investigating this one for quite some time but still could not fix this completely yet ![]()
Analysis mode has been added to the app for a while already. It is in the left tab in the playing screen for games that has analysis enabled.
These two features are not implemented yet. They are small features so I will see if I can sneak them in when working on some bigger features.
Thanks Hong. By analysis mode I meant looking at the change in score and move suggestions shown after the game is over. Showing where the big blunders are. I realize now OGS calls this AI analysis I think.
