The all-in-one democratic game

Hum my guess is that’s what going to happen, I will just behave this time a bit more cautiously, like waiting to hear a bit everyone of active of us or a few hours like we usually do. No hurry.

Not answering if it’s needed to argue, is like giving cash 30 points+ supra strength shining from the upper left.
Hard to find an equivalent.

someone’s gonna vote for tengen no matter what ; )

I can’t even find a 30 point ko threat, not even mentioning a move worth playing in itself. My thinking:
Global moves that have a chance to redeem a 30 point loss

  • attacking the D4 group (we cannot kill in one move and even if we could, it wouldn’t be enough)
  • invading on the top (can worth lots of points, but it is hurt a lot by losing the B17 stones)
  • harassing the Q6 group (i think white should answer S6, but why play it now? Other moves seem too small)

Local moves:

  • D12 lets us run with the C12 group, but do we want to run?

B14. It’s not just a few stones, it’s the whole upper left side at stake.

Attacking D4 yes too small

Invading the top. It’s not completely wrong like keeping some aji from the left sacrificed stones, although the aji would be really thin and all would be like over estimation.

Lower right, well playing S6 himself could be as big if not answered. Just my mom told me once don’t play with fire (or with a knife in the back)

Vote not yet finished but well seems we could already start considering the next white move without fear.
For me just losing a liberty won’t be logical, so I’ll to cash something by cutting. But which side?

This comment became very useful now. I recommend both B15 and B13 to be included.

I prefer B15 so that black will make worse shape if he wants to save B12-13.
With B13 instead you help black a lot and don’t get so much on the corner side.
And yes it’s already in the dias before.

If w thinks he’s going to miss somewhere else it’s still time to tenuki even if he lost 1 lib.

I think B13 finishes in sente but B15 finishes in gote.

So even though B15 seems to set up a better local result, I’d support B13.

C14 was fine to weaken Black’s position in sente, but I think continuing there at this time is too small for White compared to the middle/lower right.

So we’ll well well, digestion may be a bit difficult but I propose we continue the party here in our incredible all in one game.
So besides what’s happening in the upper right, is there alternative moves somewhere else?

So we have three main moves:

  1. B15, Groin’s suggestion
  2. B13, my suggestion
  3. Wherever @Conrad_Melville would like to play, as he wants to tenuki.

I think if Conrad just responds then we can go to poll in good conscience. It’s already been a couple of days, after all.

Sure but it’s fine we had some festive time around. I just hope we join all of us again soon.

B15 or B13 will win anyway

You’re free to give your opinion but it’s not an efficient way to convince me (well I’m already convinced but anyway)

Tenuki still may be good move. Because if white tenukies, there is no chance that black will add additional stone to top left group.

So Tengen or O7 may be better. But B15 or B13 will win anyway.
