And if you answer in a way that’s believed to be correct, the user could be congratulated with a notification saying: “Congratulations on looking up the answer!”.
I think there is still some uncertainty of whether the correct answer has been fully found.
A few months ago, I posted this about Igo Hatsuyoron 120:
Love these! Obvious very outside the realm of “normal” play, but I could imagine it would be quite fun for new and experienced players alike
Hence why I said “a way that’s believed to be correct”.
Interesting ideas! I really like the siege one you put together. These types of setups are different than what I had originally envisioned, but I could see them being pretty fun to play out, and would certainly give more variety to the standard play that occurs during normal matches. Maybe I’ll have a balance of both realistic board positions and setups like you’ve suggested.
That’s definitely a cool problem, and cool story behind it too. I enjoyed reading the article about using KataGo to analyze it. That’s pretty much an auto-loss for anyone trying to defend against it as an invasion in game though, haha.
@wolfeystudios: Any way I can pre-order? I really love your ideas—and your attitude! And I’d like to support as best I can (even if I’d have to wait longer for a macOS/iOS version).
Not sure if you already knew, but I found a Go server with a pretty interesting way to present the game: https://www.uncommongames.net/en/color-go-server-en/?fbclid=IwAR3w_Noih1VqHTao1KJ9luEJmBpIxkwgptStdRaALkQZEtdzURyYPnuVtlQ
I appreciate the kind words, and the offer for upfront support! I prefer for the product to be available before people start throwing money out their windows at me though Instead of financial support, feel free to help spread the word about the game!
Yes, I’ve seen CGS before, but thanks. It was also brought up in this thread a couple months ago. They similarly post to social media weekly, so I’ve been seeing their posts. It’s a pretty cool visualization of influence and their graphics look quite nice!
Ok will ask the HKCGA admin to post about the game or just in the chat I dunno which option should I pick
How about both?
The Conquest of Go now features a user interface for displaying and navigating the various branches and nodes of a game tree. Shown in this example is an SGF with some common joseki for approaching a 4-4 corner stone.
This week I got back into developing the online play features and OGS integration with a new UI for creating custom challenges. This works similar to the OGS play page and has the same values and defaults for time settings etc. Challenges can be made open for anyone to accept or sent to a specific player.
I implemented the player search this week which searches for users as you type, similar to the search within the hamburger menu on the OGS site. Also shown in the clip are a number of improvements I made to the challenge UI from last week, converting some of the sliders over into lists of radio buttons and spinner controls after receiving feedback last week.
This week I worked on completing some of the challenge features, such as managing incoming (accept/reject) and outgoing (remove) challenges. Additionally, the OGS bots can now be challenged and played against, as shown in the clip below.
It says this media could not be played in my screen when I try to press play , have I been banned on twitter or what?
Hmm, I’m not sure what would cause that issue. If it’s not working here on the forum, or there’s a problem with discourse displaying it, you can always click the Twitter link to go directly to Twitter to view it. I hope that helps.
I’ve had that here a few times also … usually it’s gone next time I reload the page.
The primary focus this week was the notifications system to alert players of updates on their online OGS matches, challenges, friends, etc. It’s the same OGS data, so any notifications that are responded to or dismissed will be reflected both on the OGS website and within The Conquest of Go.
This week I added the OGS site-wide ladders and functionality for joining, dropping out, searching, viewing, challenging, and playing ladder matches.
