In correspondence games it’ll take longer before I can see the difference.

I turned the ranks display off the minute I discovered the option and it’s wonderful - in the unlikely event of being challenged by a 9 dan I’ll approach the game with the same gusto I’d feel playing against a 25 kyu

Yup! I just discovered this feature and I think it’s great! I play correspondence games and I wait until its finished before haveing a quick sneaky peek at my opponents ‘show rank’ button to see who I was up against. The hardest part is not checking my own rank all the time. I don’t know if my play has improved but I feel like I’m definitely enjoying each game more now that I’m not adjusting my own play based on my opponents rank. Also theres the the added sense of mystery.
