While Yellow is alive it is definitely not possible to connect them. And the question is: who would live at the end, Cerulean or Yellow? I do not know. I just see an option to decide it right now.
@sokoslav, do you promise to play F8 immediately after @ArsenLapin1 plays G7?
It seems like an extraordinarily risky plan for @ArsenLapin1, and I would not be happy to see cerulean eliminated at this time.
If Cerulean decides so than Orange would not leave an ally in a difficult situation.
Also, if I play G7 and you play F8, then the four Gold stones at G8 are captured, but the two Gold stones at F7 will remain on the board. If I then pull back at G8 to connect my stone, you’ll need to take the time to capture the two Gold stones by playing D8, D7, L6; then connect your stones by playing F7 and G6.
That’s a lot of moves.
You wouldn’t be in real danger during that time, because we’d have common liberties, but I think those are moves that you would have to play eventually. Is that something you want?
On the other hand, if Orange plays at G7, then there wouldn’t be a Cerulean stone blocking your connection once the Gold stones are captured.
First of all, I do trust my allies.
Second, there is not that much to do anyway.
So, once again: if you decide to finish an eutonazia plan right now (for the sake of survival) - Orange will help. If you think you are OK with F12 - there is no problem for Orange with this as well. There are downsides in both cases. Just decide what is better for you.
There is no goal to kill Yellow for Orange. This is a question of surviving of Orange’s ally. If ally is going to survive himself - good, then there are other things to do as well, and no need to waste moves for another one.
D8 to guarantee that 2-space eye.

L13:

@NeilAgg
Funny. During the discussion with sokoslav I considered taking a screenshort of a future position where Orange had to play all the connection moves. This required me adding stones for the other players as well; and the next Red move I put on the board was indeed L13.
Red doesn’t have very many attractive moves to choose from at this point ![]()
Some of my current thoughts on the position:
- Blue currently has a similar amount of territory as Red (but Red has little room for expansion).
- If Cerulean was eliminated, that would give Blue a large amount of extra territory in the lower left corner, giving Blue a possibly insurmountable lead over everyone else.
- Therefore, I request my allies not to assist in any plan trying to get Cerulean eliminated.
What about Yellow (@NeilAgg)? Even if Orange (@sokoslav) does not attack them directly, Yellow will soon run out of safe places to play on. If I understood earlier negotiations correctly, Red and Yellow are allies. Yet to Blue it seems that Red is hereby throwing Yellow under the bus, so to speak.
Yellow (@NeilAgg), Blue has a suggestion: Place your troops at D13, and Blue will help you capture Cerulean (@ArsenLapin1) by playing C12 on the very next move.
I will not hold it against the Golden Empire if they continue to try to attack Cerulean, as they have few other options at this point. However, if neither Orange nor Green is interested in helping with the attack, eliminating Cerulean seems difficult.
I have no desire to “throw Yellow under the bus”, I just don’t want Cerulean to be eliminated right now, so am doing what little I can to help influence this outcome.
I did strongly advocate for a seki with Gold playing F6. That is still possible, although it gradually becomes harder as time passes.
A Gold stone at D13 would be a fun way for Gold to commit suicide, I admit.
This seems like a sure way for Yellow to be eliminated quickly (albeit guaranteeing 5th place). I’ll leave it to @NeilAgg to decide if this is really the best outcome they can hope for right now.
OOC: There is a lot of plot twists awayting @NeilAgg .
So did I. Expected this move as well.
Blue @martin3141 Cerluean is directly against us and has been attacking us for quite some time. We must eliminate them if we are to survive. I am intrigued by your plan and would like to accept it. Are you willing to help us connect that stone back to our main group if we do this?
This seems like you are advocating a direct attack on our armies. Please give us some help to understand how we can interpret this as anything except working directly against us.
