I’ve noticed a lot of accounts inflating their rating from bot games. I saw this account before and assumed it was a joke.

I think the exploit has been known for a while.

Yeah, I guess, OGS should do something about bot ranked games,

For example, by Playing a ranked game against bot, max rank someone can get is bot’s rank+1

Wow, I can’t believe players abuse the system just to get 27D! It doesn’t even show up! And it gets more absurd. Why spend 4-5 hours of your life on this? It doesn’t mean anything! :rofl:

At 27D I can give a 9 stones handicap to a program that can beat katago with 9 stones… Sounds to me like if we just send humans to another galaxy.

The issue with handicap and 9x9 being exploited on bots is known (as was pointed out).

It only started to be exploited relatively recently.

It needs a solution in the ranking system about the value of 9x9 stones.

This will likely not be a fast thing: changing the ranking system needs care.

In the mean time please report users that exploit it. That will be dealt with.

I was reminded of this important topic.

It is true that we will avoid name and shame for individuals who “commit” the typical day to day kinds of problems with their regular account that identifies them.

However, it should be obvious that the previous post doesn’t identify that person to anyone except moderators who can see more details.

Furthermore, “name and shame” should not be mistaken for “hold accountable”.

Where we have a person holding the whole site to ransom, where their offences affect a host of members, while hiding behind fake account: we certainly will hold them accountable for that.

We will also do whatever it takes, within the law to stop if from happening.
