I’m trying to download the tournament informations using API.
I found this:
https://online-go.com/api/v1/tournaments/59567/
and this
https://online-go.com/api/v1/tournaments/59567/players
There I can find:
- current round
- total matches
- finished matches
and some infos about each player:
- name
- country
- rank
- points
- disqualified/resigned
but I can’t find a way to retrieve groups informations: players and games.
@runarberg is able to get even the moves! I’m so jealous!

@richyfourtytwo processes the html of the tournament page.
I believe there must be in API some /groups or /games or /whatever that works, but I can’t find it.
What I really miss is:
- groups membership
- games situation for each player
@flovo, @S_Alexander: you are my API gurus. Do you have the answer?
Or anybody else… I’m not picky.

Yes I actually send a request for every game in the player’s group.
I get the group by iterating through the rounds, filtering the matches that the player is in, and then add the opponents to a set. The set plus the player is the group. If I do this for every match, I get all the groups for the match.
I actually have been thinking about adding some of the stats you’ve presented above to the landing page of the tournament viewer (in particular the progress) but I’ve been having problem finding time

But the introduction is the important part of a YouTube vid even though impatient people skip it .If you need some free watch time (Not exactly free) make a playlist.I probably shouldn’t talk too much about YouTube here .I can’t even find my group here can we have my own group on the top?

Any idea why the win ratio by color is 2:1 in White’s favor? Is that just the move 0 timeouts?

I think so but don’t have data for that.
The “rounds” API only gives this kind of information: “W+1”, “B+1” or “-”.
We should ask for each game to know more.

Because more people who were disqualified for timeouts lost their games as black, i.e. they were supposed to start but failed to do so. If you are white and still haven’t replied to black’s first move, that game will still be going on.

I guess in a month from the start it will even out, more or less.
Well but those people may also come on within a month, but not within 3 days.

In my group two games were lost by one player (Black 3-days timeout), and only one other game is finished : White (me) wins by 56.5 pts.

Is there any way to read older messages in group chat?
@Lys_prosodiae shared some interesting data, and I wanted to incorporate them in my analysis, but I can’t read them anymore.

I don’t have all the data itself any more (I wrote it on a tissue that was since used) and it should be outdated now, but it was on tournament chat, most of which can be seen from the tournament page.
The divide just happens to be in the middle of that data, so I just have a part of it:
19 players lost all their games without leaving the tournament
7 players resigned from the tournament
3 players finished all their games without losing them all or winning them all
0 players won all their games
We’re missing the number of players who timed out and were disqualified, I’ll check it out soon from scratch

I wonder about the statistics of the slowest games so far.
- Are there any ongoing games with zero moves played? Or one move played?
- How many games are currently paused?
- How many players have been on vacation since the tournament began?
- What’s the histogram of the number of moves played across ongoing games?

- There shouldn’t be any ongoing game with zero moves played, because there’s only 3 days for the first move, black would be timed out. That is, unless they’re paused.
- But how many games are paused is hard to know without checking them all.
- And the vacation thing, too.
- The number of moves even more, since some mods might have filters to see who’s on vacation in a list etc, or even highlight paused games in lists for moderation purposes - IDK I’m not a mod but that sounds possible, if not plausible - there definitely is no reason anyone would have a filter for move count.
