I just want to mention that the Alan Turing tournament (allowing bots and human-bot teams) has a tradition that is probably older than any ToS. So whatever else is discussed or decided, please don’t break that.
NP. That is quite different and well known.
I remember that according to the moderator, this tournament applied to the OGS site and was allowed (to use AI for human accounts).
Removed.
I think it is as for myself I won’t appreciate to play a bot in a tournament.
To ask the creator of the tournament is better as let him forget to specify his view.
If the creator does not indicate that the bot can participate, the bot cannot participate.
He didn’t need to say it.
Well this rule you mention is nothing obvious to me, could be written somewhere but I am not going to search like other players won’t too, I guess.
I am citing you own research. No mention of “human” tournaments, implicite quality of a tournament and such. Unless you mention some rules you found somewhere? Please share
What does it cost to add an option if someone wants to program it? Will make everything clear.
Well, that’s not what I meant.
What I’m trying to say is this: Bot accounts can participate in tournaments and ladders with explicit permission from the creator.
It’s in this link.
“Bot accounts are NOT allowed to accept custom games created by other users, use the ‘Quick match finder’ option, or join ladders or tournaments (except where expressly permitted).”
