Tweaking AI exercise to practice opening moves

On the advice of the free pdf ‘improving at go’

I am trying to hone a routine where I practice my opening moves up to about move 30.

  1. Start a bot at about 10k (say gnu go)
  2. You play black
  3. Play the first 30 moves
  4. Resign and step through the game and see what ai suggested were better moves
  5. Note the score for the game is black or white ahead
  6. Repeat

My questions are

  1. Are there better ways to do this, e.g. better software where you could get instant feedback, explore 2 or 3 better moves
  2. What bot would you recommend (some have limited connections and take too long to get freed up)
  3. What score is good after move 30. Is white +1 ok or black +5 or something else ?
