And, when watching a game there, I noticed two things that might make sense here on OGS also:
A notice in every game chat, that insults will lead to the perpetrator being blocked
A notice that exposes players who have often escaped
We used to have some badge of shame “recently timed out” or something. It didnt work very well (as in it was buggy) and was removed.
INSULTING GETS YOU BLOCKED on every chat feels a little heavy handed. I feel like users should agree to the TOS and be expected to respect them. (FWIW, I don’t run into a lot of mean players here. I feel like OGS’s existing systems are doing their job well)
Do we need public user blaming here? I’m strongly against of any kind of making any hatred.
If the reason to save other users time I think it is better to show such warning only during the game on the first move and only for opponent of repeated escaper. It could help other users to cancel the game and save their time.
