Unable to invite players with single-character username to the tournament

I’m unable to invite players with single-character username (e.g., https://online-go.com/player/329398/%23) to a tournament, since one needs to type at least 2 characters to trigger the search, and before that the ‘invite’ button in the tournament page is grayed out. Can this be fixed?

It isn’t greyed out for me when I put their name into the invite section of a random tournament(although I don’t wanna invite them to a random tourney they aren’t interested in so I won’t test that out).

@Haze_with_a_Z Interesting, which browser did you use? I need to invite the player to one of the title matches (https://online-go.com/tournament/63331). I tried Chrome/Firefox/Safari, as well as changing the Exclusivity to Open/Invite-only, but none of them worked - here are the snapshots showing the difference in the ‘invite’ button on the tournament page when I type ‘#’ and ‘###’ into the box:

If I type ‘#’ (in this case, if I move the cursor to the grayed-out invite button, it will show a forbidden sign and clicking on the button won’t work):

If I type ‘###’:

Ah these extra steps 2 & 3 do the trick! I’m able to send the invite now, thanks a lot

How iconic is a nickname with just one special character?
I thought I was cool with my short nickname but now I see that I am just a kid.

I did some search.
We have ! and ? and . as username.
We also have 1 and many single letters
