With editions 1979-1995 itâs mostly from go world/ranka yearbook. Later years mostly online sources (nihon kiin, go servers where games were transmitted, etc)
I have WAGC book from 1989 (11th) and Iâm slowly adding games from it.(there is a lot of them)
I will take any screens from these books (like from 6th wagc) if you have time to make them.
Thereâs a bunch of positions from other games, but not full games. I think theyâre to show good and bad moves and sequences and variations. They could take a while to write down.
I think they can show the position up to the point to be discussion and then either the actual game or some variations.
Eg Thailand vs Czechoslovakia in Round 2 and the result black wins by resignation
Thank you very much about this SmartGo tip. I will check their database. It seems promising.
In image 1 there is definitely actual game (in these kind of diagrams there is always range of moves written below: 1-52 in this case) Image 2 includes only variations with commentary so I donât need those.
These are definitely interesting. At the moment I have only 6 games from 6th edition(1984).
Making sgfs is time consuming, so itâs enough that only I would waste time on it. Images from paper sources are more than enough.
Technically you can download them all already, although itâs a little hidden.
In lower right corner there is a link to a github. Go there - click green âCodeâ button and âDownload zipâ. In event folder you will find wagc games. There are also some other events available, mostly Polish championships in different categories.
Do you want more game records? Between GoGod and go4go, I have 755 SGFs here from WAGC that I think arenât in your archive. Whatâs the best way for me to get them to you?
Also, I think thereâs a mistake in how you counted games in 2021 (possibly 2020 also) These years were played online due to covid and it was a sort of knockout. I am recorded as 2 wins, 6 losses, but I only played 4 games (with 2 wins, 2 losses) Korea Prime Minister Cup Archive - 2021
