Revisiting Automatch Time Settings: Data-Backed Proposal for New Automatch Settings on OGS

Re Fischer / Byo-Yomi, it seems very obvious to me that we should try Fischer as the default, especially since we have all the plumbing already in place to have both as options and allow people to prefer or require Byo-Yomi if they so choose, which I think we should keep in place for the foreseeable future since I recognize a significant part of the population will likely still prefer Byo-Yomi for some time to come. 60/40% to me is a very strong signal because of the fact that Byo-Yomi is the d…

Byo is the only supported time setting in WQHub - it’s currently somewhat Fox-centric. That said, Fischer is something we discussed and are interested in. I don’t think it would be too complicated to add either. There may also need to be some thought around how to expose the 18(!) different combinations that OGS Automatch supports.

Do you know which ones those are? Automatch usage data isn’t public afaik

Question: Is there a way to “sync” the progress being made under the Train>Topics across one’s Android phone and Android tablet?

I’ve got a lot of learning work under way on the tablet, but on the phone none of this progress appears. Not a major big deal, but if unified status were possible across hardware installations, would make things much more portable.

what’s the rank difference allowed?

I’ve followed OGS defaults (+/-3). I’m open to expanding that window, but doubt it will make much difference without changes to the official settings.
