Werewolf Game 4: Madness of the Martian Mimics

Yes and that is a valid reason to vote.

It looks like it will be vagabound or haze or me. @Starline and @fiddle please vote

I think we only can by either:

  1. Have all of the bodyguards reveal, or
  2. Kill Haze and see if they turn up innocent.

However, I don’t think either is a sound strategy. Your poll, by asking the question, forces the issue on taking the first course.

Above, I argue that we’re not in any rush to resolve this question, since Haze might die soon anyways

Do we have any people that we are half-sure that they are mimics? Do you have any one you suspect besides @Haze_with_a_Z?

Of course, we should focus on the most likely mimics, and I find erratic behavior suspect in its own right, since it can be a manifestation of the difficulty of maintaining deception and holding the outward perception of trying to help the innocents while actually trying to manipulate the flow in favor of the mimics. However, even if an erratic person is innocent, their erratic behavior does lend confidence to their ultimate ability to defeat the mimics. I think it is valid to vote against those that act illogically or choose strategies that we disagree with.

@Starline may well be innocent, or they may be a mimic trying to float by choosing to remain silent (although I still hope we hear more from them before the day is done). However, regardless, if they choose to remain silent, they will not help us win.

I can confirm that Starline will morph into a different person if we do not hear extensively from him before 2020-06-13T13:00:00Z.

By the rules (2 posts with 2 sentences), staying silent is not an allowed strategy for any player.

I saw what was originally posted here, but I don’t necessarily believe it.

I do not think we should make substantial edits (things beyond minor typo corrections) to posts, since the changes (even when logged by the system) could easily be overlooked.

Further, when a post is edited within the first five minutes, those changes are not even logged by the system. This creates an opportunity for abuse, since one could send and then immediately erase a message that could only be seen by whoever just happened to be looking in a window of a few minutes.

Since the system does not even log such quick edits, I think we must all follow the protocol of avoiding substantive edits, especially within five minutes.

Could you elaborate on what “different person” means? Or is that meant to be a bit a of surprise?

The picture gets cloudier and murkier. I have a bad feeling about executing Hazy, but I would back that decision if doing otherwise created too great a risk of a split vote, which we can’t afford. We have to take some kind of shot here, even though the odds seem dismal.

I probably won’t post again today (Earth time or Mars time) but I’ll do whatever is necessary to avoid that split vote. For now my vote is for Sports for Life.

I would like to reiterate this point, just in case someone has not understood the logic yet.

In the event that Haze survives tonight, it does not necessarily mean he is not one of our undercover bodyguards. The aliens could very well ignore him the next few nights in an effort to cast suspicion on him and have us kill him.

I don’t completely agree, but I understand what you mean. Since I think the most misguided thing has been faking MED, I’m voting accordingly. Sports it is. I’ll let Haze meet his fate, and tomorrow we can discuss Vagabond, unless they get voted today or we have a more obvious suspect.

Can you share? Even though you don’t believe it, I would still like to know what was said since I didn’t see it. Why’d I miss the important post?

It wasn’t actually all that important. He claimed to be innocent with no special role.

Also, Vagabond is just a cadet, I don’t think mimics will kill him before aiming for our detective. (if they’re innocent ofc)

The first letter remains the same, but the others will change to “amraku”. Of course their role doesn’t change.

Does that make him a space cadet?

I need to get back to my room and drink another vial of Dr. Leira’s elixir as soon as I can. I hope no one found where I stashed all of them.

Um, who is vagabound? I actually don’t know.

I am currently having a debate with myself about Haze either being evil and trying to trick us or they are just a bodyguard. I am not going to vote Haze but I am still considering voting for them. I think Sports for life is the one suspicious even though I don’t have proof. I sort of count pretending to be cursed as suspicious though.

I’m with Gia:
If you are a bodyguard, please don’t tell anybody! We’ll need you later in the game!
Finding out who Haze really is, is not the most important thing right now - at least not important enough to sacrifice our bodyguards!

Although it’s 4-4 for the first two, it shows as 37% and 36%. ?
