I’ll check it out. 
I absolutely love the Discourse forum software, also from a moderator perspective.
But if you want to compare, there’s also NodeBB, which I find quite similar, but seems a little less sophisticated (and thus probably is less complex and easier to manage), compared to Discourse.
I like it also because, for example, it also allows to paste images right from the clipboard, something unthinkable in the old “classic” forum software of the 1990s or 2000s decades.
They have discounts for non-profits or startup companies.
