At my peak I was 2k, almost 1k maybe. Which conveniently matched up with old OGS ranks.

Sadly I live in the middle of no where and the closest go club is a 3 hour drive. I had an AGA membership but never got to do anything with it.

I’m blessed by living in (the south of) the Netherlands, where there are several clubs within a 1 hour drive. In the most densely populated part of the Netherlands (the “Randstad” = “Rim City”), you’ll even find several clubs within a 30 minute drive.
My IRL rank is 3d EGF.

I imagine many people play less seriously online than they do in ranking IRL tournaments. FTR sofiam is stronger than me and an awesome opponent to play.

I lost to Sofiam in our only game, a 9x9 we played four years ago.
I must have still been deep into the DDK ranks to play (11).
[Of course, the reconstructed ranks are famously super-inflated.]

My EGD rank is now 9k.
Recently they recalculate all ranks. I was 10k before that.
So I can’t be proud of how I became SDK IRL.
If you look for it in the forum, you’ll find that becoming SDK IRL was my goal. Now they took it away from me and I feel awful.
So silly, isn’t it?
