How can you continue to mirror though if black plays tengen?
You have to play a different move to tengen since it can’t be mirrored.
Then at that point it would be black that would be mirroring you if the position stayed symmetrical.
Otherwise there’s always a difference on the board and that tends to lead to more differences.
Looking at a recent game I guess you mean like
Move 3 was tengen, you had to do a non mirror move. You did then technically mirror two more moves, and then stopped.
That’s kind of what I mean by
Like you now no longer want to mirror move 9.
Sometimes I can continue mirror opponent moves. The board won’t be perfect symmetrical. But moves can be mirrored. It is possible.
At move 15 black played tengen. Moves 16, 18, 20 was not mirrored. From move 21 mirror was continued.
I even got AI-warning for this I've got an AI using warning for "mirror go"

Yeah I wouldn’t say the warning was for mirroring.
Generally it’s not really “mirror go” if you selectively “mirror” a handful of moves after the mirror is broken.
I suppose technically in this game there are more mirror than non mirror moves since it’s mainly 16, 18, 20 that are non mirror, and then anything after move 45.

I wasn’t prepared for horizontal mirror

Any move on center line will break it.
and this move will be slightly worse than move of opponent
need to create a trap instead, so multiple stones are captured if opponent continue

If we had some hazing on OGS I would propose a game with @square.defender (not saying we should have)
