… and find out that you followed the joseki suggestion for the first 15 moves (with a remark of “this is more of a trick play” for your opponent’s move and “could be an overplay” for your response in the beginning) until the remark “leads to complicated variants”.

Hm I can’t remember… is the set of joseki variations in Kogo’s contained in the set of josekipedia variations? Back in the day, when I still checked for trick plays / refutations, I’d use Kogo’s.
