We have gone thru the “win by timeout” topic a million times. Games are annulled to prevent rank inflation. No problem with that.
By the same token, win by “player’s account removed” should also be annulled as well. Right?

Wait, how does this even happen? I’ve had a quick look at my game history, and accounts I’ve lost against that have been deleted are still shown as losses
they deleted their own account while game was still ongoing
ah, that makes sense
Yeah in theory.
I think the “in practice” is that this is so comparatively rare that we haven’t dug in to make that happen.
fair enough
When it’s my time, I hope that the message my opponents get is “eaten by a gator”
Now, that is a clear case of “see you later alligator”.
I would like to keep the ratings points if I beat my opponent so badly they decide to delete their account.
Why should it be annulled? Force ending works likes resignation.
I 100% agree. Same with all time outs or being cheated against (which would need the ability to change the winner of games after the game)
Now I am wondering, has it ever happened? Maybe in circuits with high stakes, large money prizes, like eSports or chess. Something like some super GM dragged away by the police in the middle of a match…
