Why is glicko->dan/kyu non-linear?

Is it possible to explain to someone who does not have deep knowledge of glicko and ranking systems why it is that glicko->dan/kyu is non-linear? I’d be curious for insight, but I certainly don’t have a mathematical gasp of glicko.

Im just curious, but how did you came up with these values? By ‘try and error’, or was there some other reason for using these? I went back to the beginning with this revision to make sure a log fit still seemed to make the most sense, and to do this I setup an interpolator optimizer to spread ranks apart until we started seeing some fairly consistent win rates accross a few handicap stones accross the ranks, this got me some data points that looked like it was basically a log fit.
