1 rule to add to the game of Go

I saw the rule get implemented on fox (Translation: Flying Knife). The rule is basically you have 2 Double Moves and 1 Triple moves. It gets randomly drawn (For the moves), and the 2 double moves and 1 triple moves are drawn in moves 11-44. Very luck base, maybe make it involve more skill (No offense to the game, it is still very fun)

If you could add 1 rule to the game of Go, what would it be?

For me, maybe add some chess pieces, like a knight which could move on the Go board?

If you want to talk about “super power Go” that can only be used a limited time per game, I have quite some ideas:

  • Relocate 1 stone (yours or enemy) - maybe only once per game
  • Hidden move (only revealed when opponent play on it, or it contributed to capturing something) - maybe 2-3 times per game
  • Delay (passing 1 turn in exchange for double move the next turn) - maybe more, 7-8 times per game. This is basically “each side can play double move once” except that you’re the one who choose when it happens.

If you’re talking about fundamentally changing the rule of the game, by adding 1 rule that applies to both sides:

  • Blind start: both side write down their first move, then compare. If they’re different then both moves are played, and then repeat. The process continues until both sides write down the same intersection, in that case the game start with black go first at that intersection.
  • Useful capture: you can optionally choose to exchange 1 of the stone you captured to take away 1 of your stone on the board.

Veto Go: every time you move, your opponent has the option to request you play at a different intersection of your choice.

Or its cousin Miai Go: suggest 2 candidate moves, and your opponent gets to choose
