I knew of these kinds of “establishments” within the same country for kids in the system, or “import - export” for kids that nobody will look for.
But across the border for teenagers that are in the system in the country of origin, that caught me completely off guard.
The area they chose (basically the Turkish border) also seems weird.
The displayed title is the original reddit post title. I thought that it was a rifle and did not see the later posts about it being an airsoft gun (which is quite different from a paintball gun). I found another article discussing the incident further:
I’m surprised that no charges were brought. Brandishing a replica firearm is still a crime.
While I am deeply concerned about the proliferation of guns in the USA and the violence that leads to, my intent behind posting this picture was mainly meant to reflect my related concerns about the increase in domestic terrorism in the USA.
Earlier this year, on January 6th, a mob of terrorists stormed the US Capitol aiming to subvert our democratic system. However, what I find even more disturbing is that a significant proportion of the electorate and even some politicians are downplaying and defending this heinous act.
@yebellz What sprang immediately to my mind seeing the first pic/article you posted was August 2020’s Kenosha shooting: Right-wing militia brandishing arms at left-wing protests.
Edit: There was another, fairly similar, incident with an ex-soldier throwing pipebombs at protestors. There weren’t any deaths that time. (He showed some Burn-after-Reading level incompetency luckily)
