TBH, I prefer to see them as standing for languages (yes, I know that flags are not precise indicators of languages).

Forgive me for replying to myself …
… regions also, when I think of it, but I find the concept of “countries” and “borders” very 20th century, even 2nd millennium. I am a planetary being, we are children of this planet. We need to help and support each other instead of breaking into another house and stealing and killing.
Which is why I’d like some “Gaia” or “Terra”, “Earth” flag, because that would (sort of) unite all alive beings we know of under its umbrella.

Maybe something like “DNA Alliance” might be fitting also, until we meet beings who don’t do it our way, or “Carbon Unit Cartel”.
I also had something with “negentropy” but forgot how I wanted to put that.
