Analysis mode circling stones

When pressing right arrow when on the latest stone in an analysis branch, will circle the latest played stone. This might be intentional, but I haven’t noticed the behaviour before.

Stranger still, which makes me think it is actually a bug: if you place a stone, press right-arrow to go into analysis mode, it shows you a variation as if you played that stone as the first move of that variation. However, if you click to play a second stone, it suddenly adapts the variation as if the second stone were the first stone you played.

It also happens on games without analysis mode enabled, making the interface look as if you played a move until you press the back button.

<Moved the second issue to its own thread.>

I’m on experimental site mode in Firefox 141.

I have been seeing the same thing since the day you posted it.

Possibly related, I just noticed this disturbing bug:

  1. go to a game in submit-move mode
  2. click a move to preview but do not submit
  3. click “estimate score”
  4. click “back to board”

Then it looks like you’ve played the move even though you haven’t. Something is definitely messed up with analysis right now.
