Go (or Shogi) on bonsai pot

Looking through a book on bonsai pots recently I came across this image. The text doesn’t mention the type of game but it’s a nice scene to look at. I’ve been thinking about what kind of tree would be suitable in relation to this pot ever since.

Told you, do not look!

Look what I found!

This image prompted a question that I want to ask you. Would you be interested in buying a similar teapot (with a real board position, without 2nd line stone in the opening)? Do you think there might be a demand for it in the West?

No. No.

For me, not really although I do generally appreciate objects pointing to our game. But this one is awful (my taste) and I feel uncomfortable by lack of stability and heavyness, compared to the usual round shape

I made a board and pieces out of trash wood.

Musashis are from an old broom stick. It didn’t look so worm-eaten at first, but the pieces are all damaged. Probably I’ll replace them with something else.

Anyway, it’s good enough to have a few games with my youngest daughter.
The strategy is fairly simple and I think that Benkei has no chances against a careful player.

Very nice set of bowls. I would love to get my hands on a set of ceramic go bowls but they’re hard to find
