Art & Go

They underestimate the pedantry of go players - seriously,

who would count the minuscule lines of a go board in a painting/print?

I counted them too

I am curious if in a few centuries archeologists will conclude from these painting that the game was then played on a bigger size. And give some explaination like the promotion by the emperors in a more cultural period?

Wow, I never expected the OGS art thread to need a NSFW filter! Achievement unlocked!

Okay, I censored it.

How many greek sculptures you’ll have to censor now…

What’s that?

I thought nudity in art with no sexual connotation was accepted. Olympia of Manet, how old is that?

Well if not so and to be fair you forgot some human breast and genital hairs to censor in your post 103. (@Atorrante )

LOL - just to clarify - I am perfectly OK with depictions of nudity - artistic and otherwise.

I am also a member of several image-sharing websites (i.e. http://mltshp.com/) that have functions where either the OP or the community can hit a Not Safe For Work button and put any given image behind a single click-through barrier.

The use-case this feature is trying to address isn’t so much “this image has nudity” - it’s more of a “this person may be viewing these images on a work computer and their colleagues may raise an eyebrow if they walk by and see them looking at this image with no context” etc…

But yes - please - more nude Go playing imagery! : )

I think this one is quite sexual.

What an uncomfortable pose to play go! More suited for another kind of playing.

There is a relax context here and i didn’t see myself sexual expression, just approaching the board to play a move

Besides i find these kind of black rectangles put more sexual ideas as if they don’t exist. Reverse effect as what intended by censorship

Yeah. Censorship is teasing. :slightly_smiling_face:

Well… , I find absurdly idea of making exceptions to something only because it is old or new

both old and new *** art should have 18+ warnings
or
both old and new *** art should not have 18+ warnings

Very high level anime art exists that many people don’t consider “art” only because it is new. This is discrimination.

Old i said for how long ago we already debated and fix some freedom. Not about if new art is victim of higher censorship.as old one, sorry if missundertanding

Come on, this is a total porn pose, typically chosen so that watchers have a better view at the genitals.
When did you last “approach the board” in a pose like this?  (Not forgetting that the player is totally naked, while her opponent is clothed.)

Even though I personally wouldn’t mind about this particular picture, especially as it was not very detailed, we do have an obligation not to post sexual content here, being in a community that also includes minors.

Art & Go Pedantry?

Well our imagination differs. I see women playing go naked or not. Nothing more. It’s not a pause per se as she’s playing a move onto the board. And all the ppl in this don’t express or look being in some sexual activity. I mean a naked woman arranging her towel on a beach is a porn scene just because it evokes some specific position or offer you a better view?

Of course a sexual content has not his place on OGS.

So, no more nudity for you all.
