Bots never respond when staring a 9x9 or 13x13 games

bots never respond when staring a 9x9 or 13x13 games.

I believe it’s been noted that these are disabled deliberately.

Even with the recent progress in AI, I am afraid staring is something bots still don’t handle very well.

so why can I select 9x9 and 13x13 games when selecting play against bot

So you could stare at each other! I though SanDiego made it obvious

It is also probable that developers are aware of this and will fix it in the future. It is though unpractical to update the whole site for every little issue and I also think they are more concered with online play against other humans… (just my guess no official statement ;-))

If you want to play against AI there are also several programs you can download, maybe this could help: http://senseis.xmp.net/?GoPlayingPrograms
at leas Fuego and Leela are free to download as far as I know…

Because the owner of the bots disabled certain time setting and board sizes not the site. it would be a waste of time for the site to set up a custom “create a game” section for each bot that only allows you to input settings the bot would accept.

It’s not hard to look at the profile page for the bot you want to play, most of them have a description as to what they wont accept.

Bot’s usually support GTP (http://senseis.xmp.net/?GTP) so there is no "it would be a waste of time for the site to set up a custom… " because bot can tell you in advance what is supported (see: boardsize)

The site would still have to restrict the options users could choose when playing a certain bot… Which yes compared to everything else the devs are working on i consider a waste of time.

There is actually much worst problem with bots

Yeah thats been happening for a long time, over a year old i would say. The server can’t handle it thats about it. I believe
