Spent three hours again
On Sensei’s Library
Didn’t know Heso.
(Definitely not every day for me, this may even be my last one here.)
(Maybe this is Senryu rather than Haiku? <shrug>
Anyway, thanks forever to Sam who told me there’s a difference.)
Yeah, it’s technically senryu. But who would recognise “Christmas Senryu Challenge”? And some of them could be haiku, if they have some seasonal words. Though who decides what English seasonal words are accepted…
Haiku for 2017-11-12, as it’s already today in England and I’m going to be busy.
“Light Stones”
My stones were so light
That they floated off the board
Judge said No Result
(Had to edit this as I made the third line too long)
‘Don’t Ask’
Attached to your corner
Would you push me in or out?
Nope just got ignored
My go opponent
Gave me a gift for Christmas
Gave up the corner
Why you no resign?
This game belongs to me now.
Too late, I see why!
The stones connected,
Thus attack ineffective,
Let’s play to surround.
Ko Haiku
How could one disdain
So majestic a ko threat?
The shit hits the fan!
This isn’t very poetic, but I kinda like the idea:
Have you been naughty?
Have you been nice? Remember:
Santa has sente.
It might not rhyme, but the kireji is pretty good.
Thanks, and thanks for introducing me to the term kireji. I remember this idea being taught when we learned about haiku style in school, but I never heard the term. The couplet at the end of the English 4-4-4-2 sonnet has a similar rhetorical effect, I think.
‘Trying’
Two birds, one stone
A little bluff, sweet sente
Who am I cheating?
2017-12-12
“Life and Death”
This is a pickle
Nobi? But he clamps, and then –
Played a timesuji.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Snapback
I set a snapback.
It crouches in the tall grass.
Just biding its time.
hope this meme become popular, LOL
Here’s a ‘haiku’ that requires 0 creativity from my side:
‘Top 6’
Ke Jie, Park Junghwan ~
Iyama Yuta, Shin Jinseo ~
Mi Yuting, Shi Yue ~
“Choko”
A sweet, lovely treat
Makes a surprise appearance
Michael Redmond’s dog.
Santa needs go boards.
Cactus Juice makes 12 for him.
OGS rejoices!
