It looks like a botanical garden. But I don’t think it’s in the Western world, because when Westeners build “fake Asian” gardens, they usually have something different in mind, which would definitely not include any teddy bears (have you noticed the teddy bear in the peacock picture?!). So maybe it is actually in an Asian country. I guess it would help to know which culture exactly is supposed to be symbolized by these, uhm, lanterns (or are they kites?).
Yeah, I do not think it’s a “fake” Asian garden. In fact, this idea is further cemented in my brain by the gentleman and the lady on the left, which dress like every other tourist that I’ve seen traveling my country (baggy pants, sneakers and/or sandals, a rather large backpack, a camera… kind of all-terrain gear basically).
I’m thinking it could be this place, but cannot find that particular greenhouse
Right - I had not even heard of most of the places. A good geoguesser challenge has some small hints that help you guess what kind of place this is and where it might be. The rest is footwork - looking on the internet for the places you think are possible solutions, searching for pictures of these places or going straight to Google maps, most of the time to find out that you were wrong, until you finally find the right place.
I’ve been spending a lot of time on some of the challenges, but it’s been fun. I enjoy “travelling virtually” and discover new places. Actually, I keep a file of links of beautiful places that I discovered by chance while I was searching for something else.
This is quite clearly an ice road, that is, a road over a frozen lake, river or sea. So actually it is water You have quite a few of them in Canada, Scandinavia and Russia. Definitely not in Germany.
I assume @KAOSkonfused found it while searching for my Longyearbyen challenge, which means it’s in Alaska or Canada:
Edit: in fact, it’s the Dettah ice road, in NWT, Canada:
