If they are public already, he can.

Let’s publish all your personal things including where you live and what you do every day.

If I published them myself, I can’t blame you.

If you publish things about a person to expose them without their consent, it is a serious offense in any world.

Unless he is a public figure, it is okay to expose him as a private person, it is forbidden.

  1. It is already published on the EGF website, so nobody here published it.
  2. You consented to publishing by the EGF, by registering with the EGF you consent to their rules. It is clear to everyone that you consented since you link to the EGF webpage on your OGS player profile, meaning you want people to see it.
  3. Copying that information here was not done to expose you, but to show a relation between EGF and OGS rank, which is the topic of this thread. You saw it as a personal attack, which it wasn’t.

You are mistaken about your rights, and you are mistaken about the intentions of the person who posted it. If you don’t want this information online, contact the EGF to remove your profile and remove the link to it on your OGS player profile.

Gennan removed one screenshot and I’ve now removed the other.

I agree with @yahel.or.3 in that it crosses a line, and it’s totally unnecessary in order to make the point about correlation of ranks.

All that’s necessary is to simply quote what someone has said.

The line I think it crosses is collecting together somebody’s information for little to no gain in the discussion.

@yahel.or.3 has a right to post whatever they want about themselves, and they can update it or take it down whenever they want to.

It’s an entirely different matter when someone is posting something about you and you don’t have the control over it

Enough fortress if on this subject you will enjoy life everyone who knows English

Thank you very much. There is at least one person who understands what I said. There are rules from around the world for this. My mother didn’t register it here in the forum.

I removed the EGD screenshot as soon as I read his objection. It wasn’t clear to me that he also had an issue with my screenshot from his OGS profile page. I would have removed it already if I had understood that.

I understand that naming and shaming users is not allowed on OGS, and I support that. But does this moderator action mean that we are not allowed to post screenshots of OGS user profiles in the forums without explicit permission of that user?

I think if it’s necessary and useful to the point being made it makes sense. So not really naming and shaming here.

I’ll follow up in pm about some other concerns I have.
