That reminds me, I like liquorice.

Even more controversially, salted liquorice…

pontefract cakes – these are one of the most traditional of all sweets, originating in the town of Pontefract in Yorkshire, North-East England. I find them a little plain, actually – they’re unsalted, unflavoured, and not all that sweet. They’re a confection for liquorice purists, I suppose.

It’s fairly popular among Japanese people so not sure if it counts but probably the best candidate among my staple foods I always have in the fridge is natto. I buy it in bulk from a local company:

I like to eat it with anything, natto spaghetti in the summer with fresh tomatoes is amazing :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

It’s Australian Marmite, extra-sticky so it doesn’t fall off the upside-down bread.

Durian

Not the same as jackfruit.

Both very trendy nowadays.

Warning: jackfruit can cause extreme allergic reactions.

Durian is relatively common here, smells bad, taste good, a bit expensive.
You make me discover that jackfruit. How tasty? 55kg? Better don’t use the shadow. (I was once warned for coconuts trees by gouvernement signs, but that’s not 55kgs…)
