One big thread for relays.
August 1st Michael Redmond is going to play Otake Hideo 9p who earned 48 titles. The competition is 68th Oza title preliminaries B.
As you can see Redmond already won two games and whoever wins this one is going to play against Li Yi Hsiu 8p.
M.Redmond has the age advantage, he’s 56 while Otake is 77. In mamumamu list Otake is 101st and M.Redmond is 108, very close.
Their last game I found ended with Redmond winning by 1.5.
I’m going to relay their match for the glory of kibitz.

Let’s continue our weekly Redmond series. Next one is Michael Redmond vs Kobayashi Satoru. 45th Gosei preliminaries.
Waku waku doki doki
Pretty interesting ending there. Michael had advantage but small, only around 3 points according to katago. I was thinking Redmond is going to take it into endgame and win small like he usually does. But then Satoru played 2 allowing Michael to cut off white group with 3 which amounts to ~15 point blunder! What Satoru was thinking there? After 3 White immediately resigned.
Next broadcast is probably in a week, at the same day and same time.
Edit: forgot to say, apparently we had Ali Jabarin lurking around though he didn’t say anything. We also had xhu. So that’s pretty cool.

Michael Redmond 9p vs Takao Shinji 9p
45th Meijin preliminaries A
As you can see 25 July Redmond won a game against Ishida which we relayed. If Redmond wins he advances to next preliminaries stage. Buut, Takao is 7 or 8th Japanese player, Redmond is going to have a hard time there.
Additionally Antti is going to play a game at the same time but looks like it’s not going to be broadcasted.
Redmond wins everything.
