I wonder if say there’s a good chance the AI agent downloads Katago or something related, otherwise training a top level Go AI in an hour is pretty nuts.

I am methodical about learning: after deciding on what skills are important to study comes the research to discover what is the best material I have (or will have) the means to obtain, then I gather the resources for each stage.
I can usually procure some items along the way, but the few books about Go available in my country cost too much1 and I cannot afford international shipping fees for multiple individual titles. Buying in bulk makes more sense.2
Today I received my first order from Kisei…
After having a look at various literature on Go, I think that the following is probably a list that will give a good understanding of the game and avoid the redundance and overlap between various books:
Kim Sung Rae. Speed Baduk, vols. 1-12.
Yang Yu-Chia. A Scientific Introduction to Go.
Bruce and Sue Wilcox. EZ-GO: Oriental Strategy in a Nutshell.
Ikuro Ishigure. In the Beginning: The Opening in the Game of Go.
Akira Ishida and James Davies. Attack and Defense.

The Korea Baduk Association recently released a new app called Legend of Baduk!
It’s designed to help beginners reach up to 15-kyu, and it’s available in both Korean and English.
The app is structured like a game, you have to clear stages to move up, learning Go as you go. It also offers training features and even lets you play against an AI designed for beginners.

This is a classic site, often recommended, and it is where I started — but only because it was the first tutorial I found. About two-thirds of the way t…
Hello, I am United Go 24kyu and I am looking for a Dan Level teacher. I am 16 and hope to become a pro player in japan or Korea, but when I look at how to become a insei the age limit is 25. So, I need to improve a lot. It’s discouraging especially when most people in those countries turn pro at my age, but I will prevail. So if there is someone willing to sit down with me once a day and help me study I would be grateful.
Hello,
Today I’m writing to you with an urgent matter. Myongji University, which established the first department of Baduk (Go) Studies in 1997, decided to abolish the department in the process of restructuring the university. Even though we had suggested expanding the department to a mind sports department by including chess and bridge, they evaluated the future of our department as low and therefore concluded the abolishment. It would be of great help if you could voice your opinion on the va…
