GoLens tool

means that shamisen has made more severe mistakes

Hey all!
I also added a new feature called “drills“, allowing you to replay your own mistakes tsumego-style, would love some feedback as usual

It’s a great start. I think on big screens the go board could be bigger, and I didn’t test on a mobile screen but hopefully there’s options to zoom in and pan the board on those devices. Both suggestions are for avoiding misclicks and also better for eye health.

I like that there’s visible bounds to hint towards where the correct move should be. Especially useful for full-board problems.

Thanks! Truth be told I haven’t really thought about the mobile version lol but that’s exactly what I planned on doing tomorrow

And yes when I was trying it out I also realized that the bouds are useful, otherwise it becomes too much

Hi! Thank you for sharing this resource. I imported my games a few days ago and finally sat down to use it for some training. I do like the drills portion of the site, but I find the board display (I have only been shown full board problems) to be far too small. I believe the layout could also use some tweaking. Nearly every go site/software I have used follows the format of a board on the left and an information panel on the right. This is currently reversed in your app. It’s not horrible, but it does require a visual adjustment when using it compared to other Go apps or tools.

I believe that it is worth considering some of the spacing, layout, and text weights to better suit using the tool for the flow of; start problem → take in info (what is being asked of me?) → observe board (where do we stand) → submit answer → receive feedback.

I am using a 15” laptop right now with the browser full screen, and I find that there is a significant amount of back-and-forth glancing when I read through problems.

Anyways, those are just some of my initial thoughts for the GUI side of things. Performance-wise, I am totally digging it, and it is kind of fun to revisit parts of my previous games that either passed right by or feel buried in the game. Thanks again!

Hey! sorry for the late reply, I haven’t checked the thread in a while :))

That’s a great point, I’m unfortunately just about to go on holiday for quite some time but this is definitely an easy win! Your reasoning makes a lot of sense to me, I’ll definitely work on tweaking that once I’m back :))

Thanks for trying it out and sharing your thoughts, that’s really helpful

Also glad you’re enjoying it hehe

hello! i uploaded 10 games but it only analyzed 3. is there a fix for this? i hope you enjoy your holiday

Hello!
I did enjoy my holiday very much thanks

This was an unexpected bug but I fixed it, it was about the komi format for imported games (pretty much failed silently), the games you imported should now be analyzed correctly
